Caring 4 Communities
As recommended by the FAFP Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisory Council (JEDI), the FAFP launched a new program in 2022 called "Caring 4 Communities" (C4C) which involves the Academy conducting service projects in underserved communities. The inaugural service project was held at the America's Youth Inc. (located in Fernandina Beach but serving the greater Nassau County area) during the FAFP 2022 Winter Summit in Amelia Island and has been continued each year since. FAFP members have worked on the America's Youth facility by updating landscaping and painting as well as participated in a community holiday party in 2024. Every event includes interacting with underprivileged children by providing first-aid workshops, talking about the importance of healthy living, and interacting with the kids through sports and fun activities.
Any FAFP members interested in serving as a local champion to help coordinate the FAFP's support of a local community service project should contact FAFP Membership and Workforce Development Director Angela Lopez (alopez@fafp.org). Special thanks to FAFP President Dr. Chris Scuderi and local champion for organizing the America's Youth events in his home community, and all other FAFP volunteers who helped support these special days!
