FAFP Non-CME Opioid Education

 

In addition to the FAFP's Substance Abuse CME Accredited Webinars developed to meet the eight hour DEA requirement, the FAFP has partnered with the Opioid Response Network (through an AAFP grant) to promote a Non-CME webinar entitled, "How to Save a Life: Expanding Access to Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)."

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1.Review status of Substance Use Disorders in the US and Florida focused on Opioid Use Disorder (Opioid Use Disorder)

2.Understand Screening, Diagnosis, and Terminology related to OUD

3.Review the evidence-base for medication and behavioral therapies in treating OUD

4.Understand basic pharmacology of each FDA approved medication for OUD: methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone

5.Understand the role of Primary Care in management of OUD
